The Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT) is accredited as an Inspection Body to evaluate the following standards:

1. NOM-006-SCFI-2012 Alcoholic Beverages- Tequila- Specifications.

2. NOM-142-SSA1/SCFI-2014 Alcoholic Beverages. Sanitary specifications. Sanitary and commercial labeling. Section 9.

3. NMX-V-049-NORMEX-2004 Alcoholic Beverages containing Tequila.
As an Inspection Body, the CRT issues opinions (dictámenes) referred to in Article 68 of the Quality Infrastructure Law (LIC-Ley de la Infraestructura de la Calidad); These opinions are recognized by the competent agencies as well as by the CRT's own product certification body, and based on these opinions, both the authorities and the Certification Body can act under the terms of this Law and in accordance with their respective attributions.

It should be clarified that the permanent inspection carried out by the CRT is part of the certification process, as specifically established in the Tequila NOM in its section 8.5. Complementarily, Article 60 of the Quality Infrastructure Law, so that the corresponding inspections originate due to the activity of the certification.

In summary, the Permanent Inspection is just than a follow-up to the initial inspection in accordance with the provisions of Article 80 of the Federal Law on Metrology and Standardization (LFMN by its acronym in Spanish) and consequently it is appropriate to carry it out as a result of the initial request for services made to the CRT by the producers and/or bottlers of Tequila and derived from the commitment they establish with the CRT through the signing of the contract for the provision of services.

An additional service of the Inspection Body is the issuance of commercial information opinions (dictámenes de información commercial) for the labeling of Tequila. These opinions are justified in Article 50 of the Regulations enforced by the Federal Law on Metrology and Standardization (RLFMN – Reglamento de la Ley Federal sobre Metrología y Normalización).
